So it has been a few weeks since I have been able to post, as I have been so busy working the Pan Am Games, specifically boxing and specifically ringside. The experience has been an amazing one, as I have witnessed several Canadians win gold medals in the ring. It was awesome to be able to be a part of putting on an amazing games, and despite just working at one venue, for one sport, I loved the experience I got and connections I made. To be part of the success of something massive and massively successful was great!
During the games, Dave Parsons Imaging was able to get out and cover a few breaking news events in Durham. July 18th was a busy day, as I covered 2 accident scenes. The first of the day happened about noon in Oshawa, where a DRPS cruiser was responding to a call, going WB on Adelaide when there was an accident involving a civilian vehicle. There were no significant injuries, however both cars were written off.
Later that afternoon, around 2 pm, there was a collision North East of Oshawa, at the intersection of Concession 7 and Enfield Rd. A motorcycle and an SUV collided, leaving the male motorcyclist in his 60s with significant injuries. He was rushed to Lakeridge Health Oshawa where he passed away as a result of the injuries. The driver of the SUV was not injured.
Here are photos of both incidents.
